Halloween 3D

Halloween 3D

Trapped in an insane medieval castle — a retro first-person shooter where the clock is your worst enemy.

macOS Free Action · Retro FPS Since 2017 Online multiplayer — in the works Being improved right now

The game

Beat the clock, clear the castle

A castle that wants you dead

Medieval halls, crypts and dungeons packed with ridiculous creatures — bats, giant spiders and mummies all want a piece of you.

Speed is your ally

Every level runs on a timer. Hit the objectives — monsters down, keys found — before it hits zero, or start over.

10+ 3D environments

A dozen distinct real-world-inspired settings, each with its own layout, traps and creatures to learn by heart.

Pick your weapon

Several weapons with their own feel and ammo economy — ammo, health and time are all counters you juggle at once.

Music & cinematics

Soundtrack, cutscenes and outrageous sound effects, in the purest late-90s shooter tradition.

Its own C++ engine

Built on a home-made C++/OpenGL engine: BSP tree, lightmaps, lights, cameras, OBJ/ASE loading — all open source on GitHub.

Multiplayer

Up to 4 players · in the works

Open a game, share a code

The host opens a game and gets a six-character code — no O or 0, no I or 1, so it can be dictated over the phone without a mix-up.

Join with the code

Type joincode CODE in the game console and you're in. Open games are listed live on our lobby page, code included.

Straight between machines

Our server only introduces the two players to each other, then goes quiet: the game itself travels directly from machine to machine, never through us.

Still being wired up

The matchmaking server is live and the lobby is public, but the in-game side is under active development — expect rough edges. Some strict routers (roughly one connection in ten, more on 4G) still refuse the direct link.
